Learning the Pendulum

I feel that I am being pulled to get a pendulum. I mean really really pulled! My best friend's mom, my 2nd mom, makes pendulums and jewelry so I plan to get one from her, but I have some questions first. 1) What stone is best to use for psychic awareness?

2) I really want something symbolic of me as part of the pendulum. I am thinking like a totem animal or something. How would I find out what that is?

3) I feel like I want a pendulum on a stand (rather than hand-held) because I have arthritis that makes my hands shake, plus I kind of want to remove my logical mind from the readings. How do you guys feel about using a pendulum on a stand?

4) I have not researched using a pendulum too much... Are there any books or websites that you would recommend for learning?

At this point, I feel my pull of the pendulum is to work on missing people cases. I don't know if that matters when choosing stones and a totem.

try clear quartz, amethyst, or labradorite...

been a dowser since I was 11, stepdad taught me with a forked willow branch to 'witch' for water....picked it up again recently, with a quartz pendulum to ask other questions.....

My friend's mom does dowsing as well... and pendulum readings... and mediumship... she has the whole deal going on. I would ask her to teach me these things, but we are very close and I want someone unbiased to help me.

I am a huge Pendulum user..
I love mine, it is home made.
I had a massage crystal many years ago, but could never touch it.. I would always get pins and needles pricking my hand if i touched it.
So i put it down and it floated around my house for quite sometime.
Until one day I decided to find it, and make a pendulum out of it.. it is rather thick and larger than normal pendulum and the nice smooth massage bit broke off somehow somewhere along the way.
But for some reason i was drawn to it to make a pendulum.
This many years later it still prickled my skin.
Until i started making it into a pendulum.
I have added a feather to the side of it as I bound the string to it..
And added a tiny shell with a hole in it to hold onto.
I made the string quite long..because i have notice when a pendulum starts swinging you need that string at least 30cm long.
It has been my faithful Pendulum now for over 15 years now and only a few nights ago it again swung into action for me.
The crystal it is made of is just some multi coloured one.. I dont even remember the name of it..
I always use a pendulum cloth with it , again i made it special for my pendulum.
and i have made a ouija Table that is also for my pendulum
and not a cup.
My pendulum doesn't always go with me.. as it is special i feel i need to leave it undisturbed at home in its special bag wrapped up in its cloth.

I do carry a clear quartz faceted one at all times in my hand bag..But dont really use it as much as the one i leave at home .. Go figure!!

Let me know what you decide on getting or making.. I love seeing other peoples pendulums..

Holy synchronicity!!!! One day after I posted this, I received an email from the New age bookstore that sponsors my paranormal team. The email was an announcement that they are holding a crystal healing and pendulum reading class this weekend!!! I absolutely feel someone or something is letting me know that I am on the right track.

I will also be either picking out or designing my pendulum this weekend. I am so excited to see where all this leads!!

    

The class was yesterday. It was very interesting. I learned a lot on our crystals and how to use them for healing. The pendulum part was very short but informative.

I looked through the pendulum that my best friends mom had made, but didn't find one that called to me. BUT I did find one she had sitting on a table that caught my eye. It was one she had actually purchased from either Romania or Poland (she couldn't remember which). Anyway, she thought it was a neat shape. To me, it looks like an angel made of amethyst. I will post a pic tomorrow.

Anyway, I used this pendulum for the class and have been trying to use it at home too. I am running into a small issue though. It will only give "yes" answers. While at the class, I asked it to show me "yes". It did. Show me "no". It did. Show me "thinking". It did. I asked it to "be still" and it did that too. Today, it will only show me "yes" and will "be still" but it will not show no or even answer no when I ask a question that the answer is definitely no. I had asked if my name is Bob and got no answer at all.

Am I doing something wrong?

I think I figured out the problem I was having. When I was using my pendulum, I was sitting in my room and my husband was laying down watching tv. I didn't think I was paying attention to the tv. It was just background noise. Today, while my husband was at work, I tried again. This time, the tv was off and there was no background noise at all and the pendulum answered appropriately. So, I guess my pendulum work will have to be late at night when everyone else is asleep or during the day while the family isn't home (and little guy is napping). Anyway, I am super excited to start working with the pendulum!!!

it is vertical up and down for yes..
it is horizontal side to side for No
and round in circles for dont want to answer or its thinking or you are thinking.

What a pretty pendulum. I have a few of them myself, but I really do not use them. I've tried in the past, but its just something that I'm not that into.

I have seen some gorgeous ones though. I also love the looks of them and especially some that can be worn as a necklace too.

Noises off is the only way to go
my pendulums are inert if there's any noise..
unlike with my cards and runes, they seem to work when I have baroque music
in the background..
mayhaps I had a past life in that period...
