ooVoo Video chat rooms

I am looking at using ooVoo Video Chat rooms
They seem to be compatible to most computer systems,
It allows 12 people into the chat room.

This is copied rom the ooVoo website.

How to start a video call: Sign into ooVoo. Your list of ooVoo friends will appear. If they are online you can start a free video call with them. Please note that you can also click on the Facebook tab to video chat with your Facebook friends. In this case your Facebook friends will receive a link to call you. Double-click on your friend to start a video call. Once in a video call you can add more friends by moving your mouse on the top of the video window and clicking Add to Call. If you want to video chat with your friends who are not on ooVoo yet, just click Web Call in your contact list or if you are in a video call, click Add to Call and select Call Me Link to send a personal link to call you. After they click on your link, they will be prompted to install ooVoo and then they can call you and join your video chat. wrote:

I am yet to see if the link is compatible in here ( PW )

But Everyone does have to sign up with ooVoo if you want to join up..

If there is a better video chat room out there that is free and allows up to 10 people in a chat room it would be good..But also allows you the option NOT to be seen if you choose not to.

I have tried Google Chromes Hangouts.. Which enables you to have 10 people in the chat room, But if anyone has Mac computer or any other running system and not using Google Chrome You cannot enter ..
So for us who are all over the world I dont think it is going to be any good.
I know of 2 circle goers who use mac and Fire fox systems.
Plus it tends to be in a small box in the bottom right hand corner of your screen.. and I cant find any way to enlarge the chat room.

SO it looks like ooVoo..
Again i think it does use Java.. Which most everything does.
including our phones.
So be sure you have the updated version..

Microsoft security essentials. It is free and doesnt allow any virus to penetrate your computer. ( sorry its only for windows users)

It is quick and simple.
I unclicked the 3 small boxes where it asked if i wanted ask.com as my web browser and if i wanted the tool bar etc etc.. Just unclick them all if you dont want any of this extra junk on your webpages.

I just bought a simple cheap webcam that has audio/ microphone on it as well for $7 in local supermarket. works well.
I am yet to figure out how to make a group up but i am sure i will by the end of the day :-)

I am finding Java is not sure of oovoo..
I have researched online..
and found it to be safe.
Just incase some of you are finding the same thing with Java.


Norton anti spyware has reviewed ooVoo and found it safe.

I am mucking around with it and ran my malwarebytes through to see if anything was left behind by the program.
Nothing was found.

JUst a bit of information if you are concerned, as most rightly are when it comes to something new on their computers.
It is still totally up to you if you choose to use.
