The Real Allison Dubois

As a medium and psychic myself, I have to say I enjoyed watching the television show "Medium"...about the Dubois family and her 3 girls.

It was a great show and was supposedly based on the real "Allison Dubois" who is an Arizona medium who has claimed to help the DA across the country and profile serial killers.

Now as a medium myself...I picked up her books a few years ago from the bookstore to read her views on what its like to be a medium and psychic. What I found from her books was nothing but "I am better than everyone else, because I have psychic abilities" type attitude and how many cases she has worked and how she knows everything.

In her book she clearly has a chapter on how only special people with integrity are psychically gifted and not everyone will be able to ever tune into spirit.

Well I for one, got a very bad feeling about this lady from the beginning. Just looking into her eyes alone gave me the creeps of someone who takes advantage of people and thinking just because she is psychic, she thinks she knows everything (Which in fact, I think we mediums get only a small percent of the whole truth).

A friend recently sent me this video to show me that the Real Allison Dubois's personality. Apparently after the airing of this video of the real her, her show medium was cancelled shortly after to do the loss of fans and people in shock at her behavior.

Some of the things she said was very shocking and downright nasty for someone who claims to have so much integrity. I would never pay anyone for a reading with this type of personality, and using her psychic gift as a weapon to hurt people who don't agree with her.

What are your thoughts?

I forgot to mention that if her name is typed into google, there are pages of people who have debunked all the scientists she claims she studied under.

There are also articles that claim that interviews with DA's offices in regards to Allison Dubois, many of them claim that she never worked with them...when in her book she claims she did.

I imagine her rise to power and getting her own TV show was probably because she knew someone in the entertainment industry, and not really based too much on what she really does.

I also loved the program Medium, I am a huge fan of Patricia Arquette Stigmata being an all time favourite movies Love the bright blue shoes she wears LOL!!
She was believable due to the fact so many mediums are dreamers of spirit! I for one last night had a beautiful conversation with my grandmother. she told me so much and some of it humerous! As a medium Dreaming is how it all started for me!!
I lost faith in Alison when in one of her books she says that no-one can be taught to have the gift... Yet she offers classes!! A bit fishy for my liking.
The Tv program was over the top with it all, a bit far fetched, but entertaining none the less, same with the Ghost whisperer.. far fetched muchly LOL!!

It is sad that one has to lie about ones abilities to get themselves out there to help others.. I have no idea if she has any abilities, maybe she has some I dont know.. But yes I got the same impression with her attitude in one of her books i have.. I finally bought one, I must admit the book wasnt about her, it was about someone else she helped and taught to become a medium. So i was glad about that!
Yet in another book she says you cant be taught???
Youve either got it or you havent! I do believe you either want it or you dont!
We all are born with it..its up to the individuals will and want to pursue it or not!!

So often you hear the story of when i was a child i saw spirit, I saw it often, I got scared or wanted to fit in so i suppressed it until now.. Now i want to develope it again!! many many times i hear it!!
I truly believe you have to Want to do this!! You have to want to get through the fears, You have to want to put in the hard yards, Blood sweat and tears so to speak LOL!And its continuous!! It doesn't stop!! It become part of you , who you are!! At times it can define one!. I have not seen her work personally so I have no idea if she is the real deal. I have seen Lisa Williams work I was disappointed! I do still like her! dont get me wrong, I still think she is a good medium.. But i am glad i went to see her, it boosted my own confidence and gave me the knowledge i am just as good as.. I just havent got my own tv show LOL!! I am also glad i am not under pressure "To Perform"

Sylvia Brown is another Medium who has been booo'ed off the stage!! Time and time again she has been proven wrong and been agressive with the client because they said no thats not true, or Its not my relative.
Many many stories have come out about her..
It seems sad that the same stuff has come out about Alison Duboi! Many Many people followed her!

they took it out of context as usual...IDK
anyways...there seems a rash of profession mediums getting labelled
fakes...i know S.B. is, all she wants is money and fame, you can even
sense that about her...
now Allison, James, Derek,even John Edward are getting called Fakes...

people are setting them up, testing them, trying to debunk them...

how is one to know? especially the newly curious about psychic mediums,
some of them will push everyone away...
so intuition about someone means nothing then?
makes the rest of us wonder "why bother to read for someone?"
and keep the readings and journalling as a hobby to hide....
or maybe the scientists are right ,and what we see and hear etc is a
mental illness or brain seizure....

IMO your intuition about a certain person should carry weight...
if you're gifted, use them to help people...as far as the Pros out there,
you shouldn't judge them unless you had a personal experience with them...

as far as Allison, mayhaps the party was just so overwelming for her...
it was not a setting condusive for a group reading...
being egged into one can be taxing, too...

Yes, her books are very contradictory to what she says in real life. I got the immediate impression she was very egotistical who thinks because she can see ghosts she is above all others.

I am sure she has real mediumship abilities, but I would never pay her for a reading with how angry she can become and start talking behind peoples back. This is a woman that said it takes someone with "High Intergretity and Kindness" for all of mankind to be in her shoes, and then you see this videos which show the opposite.

What bothered me the most was when she said "I can see when people are going to die and I love that about me"... Thats very sick for her to say or if there children go missing then its too bad, because she won't be helping. I can understand her frustration with being mocked, but as someone who is spiritual and claims they are further in development... she could have got up and walked away from the situation.

There are many articles and interviews that you can look up when you type her name in Google. Cases she claims she proved at the DA's were all false...and that even the DA office claims she never helped on the case at all.

Now with Lisa Williams, James van praagh, John Edwards...they all seem like people that are in this to help people... MsDubois is something else.

I have not read all the way through this thread, but will soon. I also loved hte show Medium, till they started with her daughter having the visions and all. it got a bit wierd I think then.

Anyway, I also have some of her books and loved them too! I'm shocked to read of what you found out hangman. It saddens me as well.

I will watch the clip you provided and google about it too. very sad when people do this, isn't it? NOt to mention how it gives us all a bad name--because many people will think all mediums are like this then.

Celtic Noodle, it really does gives us a bad name and makes everyone out there look like we are doing evil work. Threatening people with psychic powers is a big no no in my book.

I did research Mrs. Dubois very deeply on the internet, and found that people that went to her events said she was very off in audience readings. The minute someone told her they didn't feel she was right, she would tell them to sit down and cut them off. Now thats not to say I don't believe she really does have mediumship abilities. She probably is a very good medium, but I feel she has brought a bad name to so many.

Also over the years, people have said her readings have declined in accuracy. It can also be seen in the video clip above that she also seems to have lost touch with her abilities.

I think the same thing with Sylvia Browne. She maybe at one time was very psychic and let money and fame go to her head, and then those psychic abilities began to fade.

i remember her from past tv talk shows, from 70's ....she was the same rude
unbelieveable person....she and her son have always been about the Benjamins



questions for SB fans....

why doesnt she do group reads like the others?
i.e., why does she always ask questions, instead of listening to spirits like a lot of the others do?

IMO, asking questions is an easy way to use verbal and body language...
if spirits are around she does not evoke them to come forward...
